Veg South Florida

Why Vegan?

For the animals. The billions of chickens, pigs and cows raised and killed for meat, eggs and milk are routinely mistreated in industrialized factory farms. These intelligent and sensitive animals are denied their most basic needs-- to feel the grass beneath their feet, to have enough space to turn around or spread their wings, or the ability to breathe fresh air. Eating vegan or vegetarian is the best way to prevent animal suffering.

For your health. Meat, eggs and dairy products are high in calories, fat and cholesterol. Vegetarians and vegans have lower rates of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, prostate and colon cancer.

For our earth. Factory farms use an astounding amount of water and produce tons of manure every day. Waste from factory farms pollutes the soil, water and air. Worldwide, animal agriculture has a big impact on global warming.
